It's one of those things that you swore you would never do, but then you spot a dot of ketchup on your child’s face and realize you have no other resource than your own saliva to remove it. And so begins a lifetime of wiping things off your child’s face with spit and the smudge of your finger.

To find out about an alternative method, read more.

Like most time-honored traditions, someone had decided to market this age-old cleansing technique with a product — Mom Spit. The no-rinse cleanser is supposed to be gentle enough to clean your child’s face while it cuts through the playground grime.

Depending on how much spit ya need, it's sold in two sizes (2 oz for $9 and 7 oz for $1 and three varieties – unscented, fig and green tea and lemon and white tea.

I almost did that to my son the other day cause he was running late for school but I caught myself and got a washcloth. I swore I would never do that and I made it over 6 years before I almost tried.

Ha! I have a feeling that if I'm desperate enough to use my own spit, it's because I'm lacking a bag with any sort of useful items in it - even Momspit!

I always assumed moms used spit to clean off their kid's face because it was convenient, not because it has some sort of special properties. It always seems a lot easier to lick your finger and wipe than to find some water or your little bottle of "MomSpit".
