Mamas–to–be should thank their hostesses for a soirée thrown in their honor. At the very least the pregnant lady should write a considerate and sweet thank you note. To see what I recommend doling out, read more.

To go along with the small theme, pregnant mamas can give their friends a gift in an envelope – a certificate to a spa! The friends who have been slaving away on invitations, mini cupcakes and fruit punch deserve a fresh paint of coat on their tiny nails or a relaxing massage.

Living in NYC, I think a gift certificate for a massage (about $120-150) is completely overkill as a thank you to someone who made some cupcakes or wrote out invitations. I think a manicure/pedicure for the actual host, someone who coordinated the majority, or something similar is much more appropriate. Not to downplay a friend's efforts, but one would hope their friends would do things to help without expecting a spa day in return.
