About a month ago, we did a post about a Sugar staffer's friend who caught incriminating footage of her nanny on a hidden camera. In it, the twin babes had been manhandled, left in extremely unsafe positions and put at high risk for injuries. If you missed it, you can view the video above. Thankfully, the boys were not injured.
Today, an MSNBC article reported that the 26-year-old caretaker has been charged with two counts of child abuse. It said:
The charges are class 1 misdemeanors and each has a maximum penalty of 120 days in jail.
I think the nanny should have recieved a longer sentence. Those babies could have gotten hurt bad. I am happy to know that the parents found out sooner than later. Everytime the baby fell
over on the sofa I gasped. Thank goodness they did not get hurt. Sham on the nanny.
If i was that mother i probably would have gotten arrested myself, coz i would have gone crazy on that nanny's ass. To throw my child about the place like sum stuffed animal.I mean c'mon are
you kidding me...What is wrong with this world today!!!!
The report the nanny was watching about great babysitters being hard to find makes the whole situation all the more ironic.
I agree with Critty's comment as well - what was the judge thinking when he sentenced this mentally unstable woman? Endangering two children's lives deserves much more than a flimsy sentence
of 120 days in jail.
She has only been arrested. She hasn't been tried or convicted yet. The sentence noted above is the recommended maximum. I hope she is convicted and receives the max. Justice has not been
served yet.
I just picked my jaw up from the floor. I literally jumped and screamed when I saw this video! Even if this woman get sthe maximum sentence - it is still not enough. She should have to wear a
sign in public saying - I was caught mistreating children on a nanny cam and then let the public deal with her.
This video makes me irrate! She should have definitely received a harsher penalty and I pray that she is banned from caring for children in the future.
They should show this video to her cell block buddies before she goes in and then the guards should have to give them all some private "bonding" time with her. I bet any mother serving time
would be manhandling her!
I think this is awful and the fact that the max penalty in that state for two counts of child abuse seems like such a light sentence. At least this woman will never be able to go near that
child again and I can't imagine can ever practice child care again (I know at least in my state any child abuse convictions means you can't work in any kind of health care positions, and I
assume anything else involving direct care of people especially children), but if she was the mother of those children? The kids would bounce around the system for a while and be back with
her. The sentences need to be more punitive, but I have a feeling if they were the child welfare system would end up costing the taxpayers oodles more money because they'd have so many more
cases.
120 days????????? WTF?? Even if she is serving 120 days for each count then its still less than a year. That woman deserves to be in there much longer and to never be able to be in that sort
of position again!
That was awful. I couldn't imagine as a parent watching a video of my children being treated like that, especially such a tiny baby. I would be out of control.
Just wondering, but is there a reason she's walking around in what I'm assuming is the parents house in a towel? Where did he clothes go?
I am sick right now. I had my hand over my mouth the entire time in shock. I could not believe what I was watching. I gasped and unconsciously reached out every time one of those babies moved
on the sofa unattended or when she grabbed the one by the arm. Like another post said, I think if I was the mother, I would be in jail for assault charges - I'm not sure that I could contain
myself. I want to smack her now and they're not my kids!
I hope she is convicted and receives the maximum sentence but I don't think it's enough. People like this think it's not abuse because they're not hitting the kids or beating them but abuse
comes in many forms and this is definitely one of them.
I am glad that the mother followed her instinct and took quick action.
My stomache even aches right now. I got that horrible pit feeling. I'm just shocked and almost want to cry. I actually thought the one baby was a doll I until I realized it was twins. OMG
OMG. I agree with the above poster. Iw ould have gone crazy on that nanny.

2I am disgusted by that video ... 120 days is not even 0.000004% of what she should have received. She was consciously abusing those poor babies ....
3The report the nanny was watching about great babysitters being hard to find makes the whole situation all the more ironic.

5OMG! I'm speachless. She should have received much more, is all I can say.
6And I hope she never, ever finds work as a nanny again.

8OMG!!! 120 days is NOT enough time at all!
9I would have hurt that woman if those were my babies
That is not even close to being enough. This kind of thing makes me absolutely sick to my stomach.
10This video makes me irrate! She should have definitely received a harsher penalty and I pray that she is banned from caring for children in the future.
11i dont even know what to say.... she would need to be put into jail just to avoid what i'd do to her if i were those little beautiful babies mom
12This is very disturbing!!!!!! How can someone just do that!?! She needs to be put in jail for MUCH longer and beat up a bit.
13They should show this video to her cell block buddies before she goes in and then the guards should have to give them all some private "bonding" time with her. I bet any mother serving time would be manhandling her!
14OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I have no words....I am just appalled and furious

16120 days is ridiculous. She deserves a much stiffer punishment. I'm so outraged, I'm speechless.
17i just gave my daughter a big kiss and hug after watching that video and thanked God for getting to stay home with her

19OMG!!!!! That was scarier than Silence of the Lambs (the scariest movie I have ever seen). What was she doing?!?!?!?!

21anyone else having trouble with this clip? it seems to freeze a few seconds in...
