My body changed when I entered motherhood and I'm not talking back flab or droopy boobs. Those were sort of expected, it was the mom arm that flew across the front seat passenger in my car when I slammed on my brakes that surprised me.

And, the urge to leap from my chair when I hear a child coughing at a restaurant or lunging to catch a stranger's son falling from a play structure at the park.
It's catching a flying sippy cup before it explodes and making it my mission to find the crying lost lil girl's father in Costco. Or smiling at the parent of a kid pitching a fit in the middle of the mall.
It's amazing, you bring home babe and all kinds of new abilities that reveal themselves at the most opportune times like when your tot's forehead is about to hit the door jam, but your hand covers it in the nick of time.
Have you experienced any mommy reflexes?

well, I'm not a mama--but I am a nanny, and I can say that I developed those reflexes as well! My "Mama's intuition" and reflexes have kicked in early! haha
1I love my mommy reflexes! Although I usually shock my relatives with my "slowness to react" when my children are climbing on the couch or skating on the kitchen floor.
Anything short of a broken bone, stitches, or more than one minute of tears usually gets to run its course.
2My sister is always throwing her arm in front of me when we are out and she is driving! It cracks me up
3This is a little off-subject, but I had a boyfriend that did that when he had to brake suddenly to avoid other cars. It's not just a mommy reflex.
4I had those reflexes before my son was born, but it's really cool to see my normally hard-shelled husband with those now.
5I've told this story before but it was a reflex for sure- I caught poop in my bare hand as it shot out across the changing table
