Nail polish is an ageless joy, as far as I'm concerned. Makeup, I feel is for older girls.

well if parents dont enjoy clipping their childrens nails why not pay someone else to do it. they might use the less toxic polishes at these places too

I had a problem with nail biting through high school. After trying everything else, my parents bribed me with regular manicures in exchange for not biting. It worked, and it's something I still treat myself to occasionally.

My first salon hair cut was for my 13th birthday. There was no looking back after that. No more kitchen haircuts for me!

I don't see the harm in an 11 year old getting a mani/pedi, but only for special occasions.

i think it is fine, it makes little ones feel like a little person, hair & makeup can wait tho. The thing I HATE is when parents primp their children like little pagent girls too early or when the child doesnt want to, not ok.

it was a bonding thing, to paint my nails with my grandmother as far back as I can remember. I agree with an above commenter- an ageless joy.
I think she looks beautiful here, though I am sad to see that she [probably, because I really don't know] buckled under pressure and either bleached/waxed her so-called "mustache" off. she's just a small kid. nail-painting, fine, but messing with your body hair already? :/ I dunno.

I was just thinking at my salon they have eyebrow waxing... If I had brows like that when I was in school (or ever) I would probably have begged my mother to do something about them. Kids would have been teasing me unmercifully on a daily basis, I would have been in tears...but that's just me!

I think its adorable! Its not like shes walking around in a mini skirt or with a face full of make-up. Manicures & pedicures are totally appropriate for an 11 year-old girl!

I think it's fine and fun. The problem I have is that some male photographer is following her around taking pictures of her. She's only 11.

She obviously is girlie so its fine. Plus she is not taking it over the top with tons of makeup and skimpy clothes. Also she lives in a different country so thoughts on girls primping may be different.

My mom would have never let me wear dark nail polish when I was 11.

I would be concerned though if she started getting her eyebrows plucked at 11, like tkoblondee suggested. Regardless of what her eyebrows look like that would be too much too young. If young girls knew the tedium of full-on female maintenance I think few of them would be so keen to get started on the waxing and plucking aspect as young as they do!

Also, a bit off topic, but i didn't know that her official surname was Leon. Madonna being, well, Madonna i assumed it would have been Ciconne and then changed to Ritchie.

I think it's a cute and fun thing, to let your kid get manicures. As for the bleaching - I remember I had quite a dark one myself when I was around her age and after a few kids teased me over it I begged my mom to do whatever she could to get rid of it!

I don't see the harm in it,it does make people feel special... I do agree that waiting on the makeup is a wise idea.
