Overstimulation is not something that a new baby needs. Its hard to avoid during the holiday season with all the lights, colorful gift wrap and decorations but if you can tone it down you will have more restful nights during the holidays. Your advice is great and is something new parents should take into consideration. Its too easy to go overboard with the first holiday with a little one. They can't grasp the concept yet anyway and there is no need to add the extra stress to your life.
