Wow, lucky first two posters! At my job, we get NO paid maternity leave. Of course, they have to give us up to 12 weeks off unpaid.

I live in Canada, so I was lucky enough to get a year of paid maternity leave (benefits were based on the hours I worked during the last 6 months before I went on mat. leave). I will always be so grateful I got to stay home for the first year of my daughter's life!

I'm looking forward to the time off even with all the hard work. Our New Year's Eve baby cannot come soon enough. My spouse and I will be splitting the mat leave. I'd like to do a 50/50 split. 6 months for one, 6 months for the other but it will probably be 9 months and 3 months.
