Trick-or-treating is the highlight of Halloween for most kids, but when it comes to scoring the best loot, not all neighborhoods are created equal! Zillow ranked the top 20 cities for intrepid trick-or-treaters based on median home value, walkability, population density, and safety. We're giving a shout-out to the top 10! No. 1: San Francisco

No. 1: San Francisco

Leave your heart in San Francisco this Halloween. The top city to trick-or-treat, as determined by Zillow, is the second most densely populated large city in the United States after New York City (and it's home to our POPSUGAR headquarters!).

If you're headed out with your tot for some trick-or-treating in San Fran, the best neighborhoods to check out are Presidio Heights, Sea Cliff, Noe Valley, Cow Hollow, and Lake.

Los Angeles is known as the place for all things show-biz-related, and now it also has bragging rights as No. 2 among the best trick-or-treating cities in the US. Paint the town orange and black this Halloween, and be sure to schedule some trick-or-treating in Cheviot Hills, Brentwood, Pacific Palisades, Studio City, and Beverlywood.

Highest-ranked neighborhoods for trick-or-treating this Halloween are Cambrian, Rose Garden, Willow Glen, Santa Teresa, and Evergreen Valley.

Hawaii Five-0 goes Halloween! Honolulu, the birthplace of President Barack Obama, is ranked as the No. 6 best city to go trick-or-treating. The best spots in Honolulu to score candy this All Hallows' Eve are Kapahulu, Kuliouou-Kalani Iki, Hawaii Kai, Makiki, and Moanalua.
